Have you been ‘Junipered’?
Earlier this year, we asked entrants of The Juniper Co. 22nd Anniversary Duck Race to tell us how they had been ‘Junipered’ - how The Juniper Co. has impacted their lives. It was a pleasure hearing from so many friends and colleagues, and we loved reading your stories. Throughout the summer, we’ve been reflecting on these wonderful testimonials – here are some of our favourites:
Let’s start with our duck race winner, Nikita Skakun! Nikita, an alumnus of our KPMG Personal Development Programme, shared a key learning that still resonates with him today: "The Juniper training and consultations I had led me to the realisation that it is crucial to consider and respect the pace of the colleagues you are working with. It is often more beneficial to temporarily slow down, align, and only then speed up together, than to blindly assume everyone’s on the same page," he said.
Jemma Came worked with us from 2015-2018 and had these lovely comments about her time in the team: “Juniper is a high-performing team, but most importantly, it’s a family. I learned so much, worked in amazing places, with wonderful people... and had a great time doing it! The skills I’ve taken away from working with Nicki and the rest of the team have influenced my career significantly and I will be forever grateful for this small but mighty team.
“In the past 12 months I’ve achieved my change management qualifications, had coaching training, am training to be a coach and leading a new mentoring programme. It all started with Juniper. ❤️ Thank you, Nicki.”
We loved watching members of The Pony Club alumni go on to take medals in the equestrian events at the Olympic Games and remain very proud of The Juniper Co.’s relationship with the world’s largest association of young horse riders. “Working with The Juniper Company has been transformational for The Pony Club,” said Marcus Capel, CEO, when describing how they had been Junipered.
“With the support of Nicki and the team we have established our internal marketing team, developed senior leaders and created a clear commercial and marketing strategy. Communication across the organisation has vastly improved as a result of the help and guidance of the Juniper team. On a personal level, the depth of knowledge, enthusiasm and down to earth understanding of our needs has been a massive support and I’m glad to have Nicki and The Juniper Company in my corner!”
Archie Harwood, CEO at the Harwoods Group has been a long-standing friend of the Juniper team. “I first came across The Juniper Co. when I was looking for help to formulate and professionalise our company strategy,” he explained. “I knew Nicki and her team were the right people for the job from the moment I met them, and they have proved to be a tremendous support and counsel ever since. You know you’ve been ‘Junipered’ when you wake up thinking about the 3Ps – am I purpose directed, people centred, and performance driven as a leader? And, more importantly, in what ratio?”
Another friend of the Juniper team to share how they have been ‘Junipered’ is Matthew Morris, Rural Director at The Duchy of Cornwall. “I have worked with Nicki and the team at Juniper for several years now and have seen the difference that they can bring to a team,” said Matthew. “The work we have done with Juniper on establishing a vision and working out what is important has brought not only the executive team but also the whole organisation together.”
