Welcome to our March newsletter

Hello Spring!

In the spirit of the new season, we're thrilled to exclusively give you the first watch in our brand-new series of podcasts we’re recording with some old friends, to showcase the best of Juniper. We will be reflecting on the work we have done together, and discussing what it has meant for them.

We are so excited to announce that first to the microphone is...

Matthew Morris, Land Steward at The Duchy of Cornwall, a member of the Executive Team, with whom we collaborated to support the development of The Duchy’s strategic plan and organisational values, ahead of the most significant of changes in 2022 – a change in reigning monarch. For an exclusive first view/listen where we explore the process they undertook, and Matthew talks candidly about the challenges it presented and how they overcame them, click here.

We are a team of diverse backgrounds and experience – this month, according to our 2023 goals, we have spent time focusing on our individual abilities and sharing more about our personalities. We have also been exploring the themes of psychological safety, comfort zones and overcoming obstacles, which is strengthening our team relationships, and enabling us to apply more of our unique capabilities to our client work. If you missed our blog on how to set about visualising your goals, you can catch up on it here.

Finally, as part of our 21st birthday year celebrations, we decided what better way to kick it off than to hear from the managing director herself talking about her journey over the last 21 years! If you’ve missed it on LinkedIn, click here.

Catch up on all this and more, below.

Spotlight on DISC personality profiling and how we play to our strengths

A key Juniper ethos is that we are passionate about helping people to be the best version of themselves. We believe that the DISC personality profiling tool is an excellent starting point. This month we sat down as a team to discuss our profile reports, our strengths and ‘in control’ responses, as well as how we tend to respond to pressure and our ‘out of control’ reactions. This insight is instrumental to help us to improve our internal relationships and become stronger as a team, which in turn means we can work 'smarter' for our clients.

See below for snippets from our individual DISC profiles and read the full blog here.

Vicky - Advisor SI

High S with a moderate I, a lower C with a very low D

I love interaction and negotiate conflict well, however I could learn from those around me with higher D traits, who are not afraid to challenge or be more direct.

Ava - Advisor SI

Moderate S with a moderate I, a somewhat low C and D

I enjoy taking the time to really understand people's needs and perspectives, but when I’m ‘out of control’, I can be uncommunicative, so I am working on that whilst amplifying my more reliable traits such as thoughtfulness and resilience.

Emily - Governor ISC

High I and S, with a moderate C and a very low D

According to DISC when I am feeling ‘in control’ of a situation I rely on my I-style to promote positivity and my C-style to ensure I am correct. However, I need to be aware of over-committing myself, and work on being more decisive and realistic.

Nicki - Challenger DC

High D, moderate C, low I and S

My D-style intensity means I am determined and driven to excellence, providing direction and leadership to my team. I need to remember to slow down at times, lead more from the back than the front, listening to others’ ideas to ensure we reach a consensus.
