Case study – Procurement processes: the quotation process workshop

Working together to make strides in procurement excellence.


The solution

We created a short bespoke workshop, designed to deepen HRP people's understanding of the quotation process and associated thresholds. This includes:


  • An overview of the quotation process
  • Guidance on making requests for a quotation, including producing a specification
  • Calculating total cost of ownership of products or services
  • Practising questioning suppliers to gain clarity on their proposal.


This hands-on workshop is equipping HRP people who procure with the tools they need to navigate procurement with confidence and objectivity. 

The results

Following a series of workshops held at Historic Royal Palaces’ breathtaking locations, over 60 HRP employees have gained the confidence to independently manage key procurement processes. Equipped with tailored quotation templates and the ability to draft detailed specifications for products or services, participants are now empowered to evaluate quotes effectively. They have also honed their skills in questioning suppliers, enabling them to make informed comparisons and confidently select the most suitable partner.
