Navigating uncertainty at work

Navigating uncertainty at work
What if uncertainty is not the real problem at work?
We recently hosted a discussion on navigating uncertainty at work with leaders and professionals from a range of sectors. Although AI featured strongly, the conversation quickly moved beyond technology to three broader questions:
🎯 Focus, capacity and competing priorities
âš¡ AI adoption and usefulness
🧠Influence, agency and change
Afterwards, Archie Harwood shared a reflection that beautifully captured the spirit of the conversation:
“The leadership challenge I perceive is not to remove uncertainty, but to create enough clarity and confidence so that people can still find fulfilment in it.”
“I was inspired in the session by the idea of reframing roles and giving individuals and teams the agency to do so themselves…”
“…Perhaps leveraging AI to achieve a ruthless reorganisation or redistribution of effort is what is required to regain a sense of balance in our work.”
For us, this was one of the biggest takeaways from the session.
AI may not be the challenge itself. It may be showing us where priorities, workload, leadership and ways of working are already under strain. The opportunity is not to use AI to do more, but to create space for better decisions, stronger relationships and higher-value work.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their experiences and perspectives. We’ve captured some of the key themes from the discussion here: Key insights -Navigating uncertainty at work 9 July 2026.
We would love to keep this conversation going. What is helping you, your teams or your clients create clarity, confidence and agency in an increasingly uncertain world?
